Spring Music Updates

Rapper Kid Cudi changes up genres and forms the alternative rock group WZRD with his producer cohort Dot Da GeniusWZRD is a way for Kid Cudi to “subconsciously change people’s perspectives of music and genres”. The self-titled album has debuted at #1 on iTunes chart and will be sure to keep die-hard fans as well as gain new ones.
In rap, Nicki Minaj once again releases a new single for fans with Roman Reloaded. The track features (of course) Lil Wayne and is a more “straightforward” rapping from Nicki Minaj then on her previous released songs. ATLien B.O.B is feeling So Good about his new song which is produced by Ryan TedderSo Good is a crossover, club-friendly tune that will help gain B.O.B the momentum need for his upcoming album.
British R&B songstress Estelle continues her trend of releasing an album every four years with All Of Me. Known for being a dual singing and rapping threat, Estelle looks to continue the success of across the pond musicians in America and she should have no problem with a guest list that has Rick RossChris Brown and Trey Songz.
Electro-pop group Far East Movement comes up with an “infectious, irresistible” anthem titled Live My Life. In what may seem like an odd pairing, Live My Life has Far East Movement getting a hook courtesy of Justin Bieber that makes this song an ultimate dance floor anthem. Being hailed by many E-zines as one of the Best Albums of 2011,M83 found a hit with Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Reaching the Top 20 of Billboards album chart helped prove what M83 first described about this album, saying “very, very, very epic”. He was right.
Craig Morgan isn’t steering towards country music’s pop leanings on his latest effort This Ole Boy. With the title song a current radio hit, Craig Morgan keeps his “boots planted in the soil” and gives the fans what they expect from him. Carrie Underwood might have one of her biggest hits ever with her new single Good Girl. On the track, Carrie Underwoodshows off her powerful vocals with “sassy” lyrics over and up-tempo beat. Good Girl has smashed its way into the #1 spot on iTunes Country songs in less than 4 days. Lyle Lovett brings a new album that is a collection of covers in Release Me. Since signing with his label 27 years ago, Lyle Lovett has taken on many styles in that time and Release Meis a collection of those styles that finds Lyle at ease and is sure to please everyone.

New Music Releases

First up we start with electronic producer Skrillex’s newest EP titled Bangarang. CurrentlyBangarang is at the #19 spot on Billboard, but the five-time Grammy nominee may be on his way to his first top 10 album. After having a successful album with Future History,Jason Derulo makes that album ReloadedReloaded is remixes of the whole track list ofFuture History to give listeners more Jason Derulo in a different style.
Pop star Ke$ha said she “wanted to get gangsta” on her latest remix with Sleazy REMIX 2.0 Get Sleazier, and she did just that by adding four of the biggest rappers right now. Lil WayneWiz KhalifaT.I., and Andre 3000 all join her for this remix and it’s looking to be a monstrous track.
Speaking of hip-hop stars, 50 Cent gives his latest single Wait Until Tonight. The track here is a laid back love ballad that has the internet going crazy for it. After becoming the most followed hip-hop artist of Twitter, Nicki Minaj releases her latest single Stupid Hoe. This is classic Nicki Minaj and is said to be a diss to her predecessor Lil Kim. Atlanta teams up when B.O.B enlists Andre 3000 for his latest single Play The Guitar. The song here has a bluesy guitar riff and high-tempo beat that works well for both artists.
Taylor Swift takes a musical departure and gets together with one of last years biggest bands The Civil Wars for the song Safe & Sound. The single is from the upcoming movie The Hunger Games and was produced by T-Bone Burnett and is currently at #31 on Billboards Hot 100.
Next, we have the #1 album on iTunes chart with alternative band Snow Patrol’s sixth album Fallen Empires. On this album, Snow Patrol adds some electronica to their “one-fist-pumping, mini-arena pop.” Fallen Empires has been in the top 5 albums in five different countries and looks to make the US its sixth. SafetySuit releases their sophomore albumThese Times which is at #5 currently on iTunes chart. With rave reviews from all critics,SafetySuit is looking like they avoided the sophomore slump.
Lastly, we have the new single from the legendary band Van Halen titled Tattoo. FrontmanDavid Lee Roth jumps back on board to unite the band and bring us classic Van Halenthat has been missing in our lives.
