Winter Music Updates

In rap, the “auto-tune king” T-Pain releases his long-awaited fourth album rEVOLVEr. The album is currently number 9 on iTunes and T-Pain offers a wide range of tracks. From slow piano ballads (Drowning Again) to up-tempo club tracks (It’s Not You (It’s Me)), T-Painshows that he has evolved from just auto-tuning. This next group can be seen on Late Night TV as Jimmy Fallon’s back-up band, but The Roots keep making music as they release Undun. This is the Philly crew’s 13th album and the critics are giving it rave reviews so far.
Robin Thicke airs out his personal side with his newest album Love After War. Much of subject matter on Love After War is based on Robin Thicke’s relationship with his wife. While there is some War, most of it is the Love part. Carl Thomas comes out of seclusion for his album Conquer. After taking four years off, the singer who has never had a number 1 album looks to do what the title suggests…Conquer the charts, and just might have the potential to do that. Five months after her untimely death, Amy Winehouse releases a posthumously album called Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The album consists of Amysinging covers and original songs and displays just how strong a voice Amy Winehouseis.
Dia Frampton, runner-up of TV’s The Voice releases her solo debut Red. Building upon her success on The VoiceDia Frampton gives a pop-oriented album that is sure to gain her more fans. Red has some different artist featured on it as Kid Cudi joins Dia on Don’t Kick The Chair and coach Blake Shelton does on I Will.
After blazing up the charts last year with a highly praised album, The Black Keys return again just as strong with El Camino. Coming out at the #1 spot on iTunes isn’t a bad start either. El Camino is an “ear-pleasing” party album, that one writer suggests that “by the time the record ends…you’ll want to start over again”. Arizona band The Maine, look to continue their successful run of albums with the release of Pioneer. On the 13-track album,The Maine blend sounds from many different genres including country, pop, and classic rock to give them “their most impressive album” to date.
Korn’s tenth album The Path Of Totality is said to be the band’s “most revolutionary album yet”, and effectively “brings the rave world into the mosh pit”. Enlisting Grammy-nominated producer Skrillex helps this cause and from what critics are saying Korn is sure to have another hit on their hands. Chevelle tip their Hats Off To The Bull with the #4 album on iTunes. Chevelle is said to sound like a completely recharged band for their sixth album.Hats Off To The Bull serves as a reminder that this is one of the best hard rock bands out now.

We are pleased to bring you the #1 album on Billboard with Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto. This isColdplay’s third number 1 album and even the critics are giving Mylo Xyloto positive reviews. Coldplay goes in a different direction with the inclusion of techno and synth for a crossover chart-topper. Oasis lead guitarist/songwriter goes the solo route in the form ofNoel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Opening out at #13 on iTunes album charts, Noel Gallagher shows that he can succeed by his lonesome.
Before going on their undetermined length hiatus from making music, metal bandDisturbed gives the fans a compilation of b-sides that they consider The Lost Children. This is a collection of rarities from their 11 years of releases. The Lost Children consists of two unreleased cuts (Mine3) and covers of Judas Priest and Faith No More songs along with bonus cuts that offers a cohesive album of high-octane songs.
Blasting your speakers will be this DJ named Kaskade with his newest album Fire & Ice. While Electronic dance music is rarely seen at the top of the charts, Fire & Ice comes in at #17 on Billboard. With features from Skylar GreyRebecca & FionaSkrillex and more,Fire & Ice looks to be a mainstay on the charts.
Onto country where Joe Nichols releases his seventh album and states It’s All Good. After having a few battles with his record company, Joe Nichols puts everything behind him and looks at the positive which shows on songs like the title cut that It’s All Good is more than an album title. Dierks Bentley drops off his newest single Home. Being a native of Arizona it’s fitting that Home has been hand-picked to be the official song of the state’s 100 year celebration.
In R&B, Trey Songz releases a single titled What I Be On. On the track Trey Songz lets you know he has the “swag” over a futuristic beat. Rapper Fabolous adds his rhymes to let you know What he Be On. Another singer and rapper team up when Robin Thicke enlistsLil Wayne (again) for his new single Pretty Lil’ HeartRobin Thicke uses his soulful voice and Weezy a rap over a mid-tempo piano beat for the ladies. Winner of The VoiceJavier Colon, brings a new song for the masses to jump start his career with the single As Long As We Got Love. People have been patiently waiting for music from this guy and it’s finally here and he gets a little help from Natasha Bedingfield.
Finally, some Various Artists jump on board the newest soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1. With all new music from the likes of The Joy FormidableIron & WineBruno MarsChristina Perri and more, this soundtrack has a lot to offer for everyone’s music likes.

Fall's New Hits

Hello and welcome to the new music release!
Patrick Stump Fall s Out from Boy and goes the solo route with his debut Soul Punk. The album is an attempt to infuse both the genres with synth, sax and dance grooves. Soul Punk has come in at #12 on iTunes chart and is Patrick Stump’s solo career seems to be off to a good start. After announcing their impending break-up a month ago, R.E.M. return for one last hurrah with their lead single from their “Best Of” album titled We All Go Back To Where We Belong. The song is signature R.E.M. over an acoustic backdrop.
Maroon 5 continues their Moves Like Jagger groove that features Christina Aguilera and get’s a little hip-hop flavor with the remix of the hit song featuring rapper Mac Miller. The original song (which seems to be played on radio 100 times a day) is one of the biggest hits from both Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera in awhile and has been #1 for three weeks on Billboards Pop Song charts. Last week, we brought you the lead single from the new Twilight movie. This week, we bring you the next one with Christina Perri’s song A Thousand Years. After having her debut record, lovestong., peaking at #4 on Billboard’s Chart, it was only a matter of time before Christina Perri was asked for more music.
In country, Gloriana is back to continue their momentum after their hit debut album with the single (Kissed You) Good Night. Their debut peaked at #3 on Billboards Album Chart and they are hoping (Kissed You) Good Night can help them reach that propel them further.
With the #6 album on iTunes album chart, it’s Jane’s Addiction with The Great Escape Artist. This is Jane’s first album in 8 years and represents a return to form for the band and also an “unsullied beginning”. Jane’s Addiction enlisted TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek for bass guitar on The Great Escape Artist to bring their sound to the future. Band Daughtryrelease a “stadium-ready anthem” for the masses titled Renegade. One critic wrote about the new song, “it’s a blazing song…that is polished to perfection”. Can’t wait to hear it.
The guy that brought us the House of Pain and Everlast (a.k.a. Whitey Ford), brings us his long-awaited album Songs Of The Ungrateful LivingEverlast is hard to define in any genre and that’s just the way Whitey wants it. With his lead single I Get By, which is a perfect anthem for troubled times, is making waves at radio on rock stations, Everlast’sSongs Of The Ungrateful Living is a rock album, but still hip-hop underneath.
After many features, an underground presence and signing to Rick Ross’ label, rapperWale delivers his single Lotus Flower Bomb featuring singer Miguel. This is an “alluring and seductive” track that should thrust Wale into the spotlight. Also check out his other single released this week, Focused, which features Kid Cudi.
And finally R&B/soul singer Anthony Hamilton releases his single Woo. After leaving many fans wondering if they would ever hear him sing again, Anthony Hamilton is back and gets a production from music legend Babyface, and has fans saying “WOO” about this track.

New Music Releases

Hello and welcome to the new music release!
Seven months after winning two of Grammys biggest awards, Lady Antebellum returns with their third album titled Own The Night. The lead off single Just A Kiss quickly became a Top 10 hit on Billboard and Own The Night is sure to follow suit as it is at number one on iTunes Top 100 albums chart. Next in country, Miranda Lambert takes her star power and formed the group Pistol Annies and bring to the masses their debut album Hell On Heels. From what the critics are saying, this group brings a “sassiness and spark” that fits their name and album title to a tee. Hell On Heels is currently at number five on Billboards Country chart.
Returning to a heavier sound that was dominate on earlier albums, Staind brings forth their seventh self-titled album. After releasing a country solo album, front man Aaron Lewis is wants to show people he’s “not a wimp” and this album is definitely a step in the right direction. Waiting long for Primus? Well wait no longer, 11 years after their last releasePrimus returns with Green Naugahyde (means artificial leather). And it looks like fans have not forgot about them as they have debuted at 12 on iTunes chart and that’s without an official single.
Legendary rocker Alice Cooper follows up his debut solo album with its sequel titledWelcome 2 My Nightmare. While he may be 63 years old, Alice Cooper is showing no signs of slowing down and Welcome 2 My Nightmare is already receiving rave reviews. There is even a feature on it from Ke$ha on What Baby Wants.
Heavy metal band Anthrax had fans waiting patiently for two years after many push backs of the group’s 10th studio album Worship Music, but it is finally here. And they have delivered for us one of their best albums yet. After rising to great fame in the last five years, The Devil Wears Prada (the band, not the film or book), look to continue their quest in Dead Throne. They might have reached it as Dead Throne sits atop iTunes chart at #4. Get ready for a neck brace because you’ll need it after listening to these to bands.
Tony Bennett & Amy Winehouse get together for a duet with the song Body And Soul. The track was recorded in March of 2011, and was Amy Whinehouse’s last song. Wednesday September 14th marks what would have been Amy’s 28th birthday. Ben Folds Five reunites for their first new song as a trio in over ten years with House. This will be the first of brand new Ben Folds Five songs they plan to release in the upcoming months.
Lastly, New Orleans own Trombone Shorty releases his newest album For True. On For TrueTrombone Shorty is joined by some high profile guests, such as Kid Rock on Mrs. OrleansLenny Kravitz on Roses, and Jeff Beck on Do To Me. After having a Grammy-nominated album last year, Mr. Shorty is hoping for another big profile album with For True.

Summer fun

First up, we have what is being dubbed as one of the “great albums of 2011” withAWOLNATION and their debut album Megalithic Symphony. This debut features a mish-mash of styles, which makes them hard to categorize them in one specific genre. While currently at number 6 on Billboards Top Heatseekers, AWOLNATION has been a mainstay on that chart and should be on there for awhile. Next, Incubus returns five years after their last album to release If Not Now, When? I guess it’s the right time for them. Reaching as far as number 2 on Billboards Top 200, Incubus finds themselves doing something “different, but unique” with If Not Now, When? Puddle of Mudd release their newest singleGimme Shelter which is their version of The Rolling Stones classic song. This is the first single from their upcoming album where they pay tribute to classic artists that turned them on to becoming musicians themselves.
Heavy Metal-ers Anthrax unleashes some music that matches the title of the song withFight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t. This is the first new music from Anthrax in over eight years and they are also celebrating their 30th anniversary of releases.
The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band goes back to their roots and dares you to watch How I Go. After experiencing with a different style last time out fans stayed away, but fans are back with How I Go debuting at 23 on iTunes album chart. How I Go also features covers of the BeatlesYer Blues, the Albert King standard Oh Pretty Woman, and Bessie Smith'sBack Water Blues. Legendary John Hiatt releases his 20th album with Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns and so far it’s receiving rave reviews. On this album John Hiatt proves again that he’s a gifted story teller with rough-edged songs (Damn This Town) and love songs (Don’t Wanna Leave You Now).
After having a highly successful year in 2010, Drake tries to keep that momentum going with his newest single Marvin’s Room. Currently at #10 on iTunes Top 100 songs, Marvin’s Room is not the official single, but it shows that Drake might be here to stay. Down south,Young Jeezy drops off his latest single Shake Life, for the masses from his long awaited album. Fans are loving the new jam, and Jeezy might just have a hit single with this Shake Life.
R&B songstress Monica enlists Rick Ross for her latest single as they will do Anything (To Find You). On the track, Monica takes listeners back to the glory days of R&B that will sure to be on DJ’s playlists everywhere.
After becoming an overnight sensation for his rendition of Lady GaGa’s Paparazzi, 14 year old Greyson Chance tries to continue that popularity with his debut album Hold On ‘Til Tonight. Already being at number 7 on iTunes album chart is sure to help with that success.

Summer Hits

First up, electronic artist Owl City paints a whimsical world with the album All Things Bright And Beautiful. On this go around Owl City dabbles in indie rock, folk, and on Alligator Sky, hip hop to bring the fans an uplifting message of hope and imaginations. Then, Foster The People, who have reached as high as #8 on Billboards Top 200 brings us Torches. Featuring the anthem Pumped Up KicksTorches has got the fans buzzing about this debut band.
You’ve heard her on Dr. Dre and Eminem’s I Need A Doctor and Diddy’s Coming Home as the hookstress. Now it’s time for some solo material from Skylar Grey as she brings us her new single Dance Without You. Fans can also check out Skylar’s beginning as she used to go by the name Holly Brook.
Speaking of Eminem, we got a new album full of his material as he combines with Royce Da 5’9” to make Bad Meets Evil and bring us Hell: The Sequel (Deluxe). The album is mostly Royce and Em exchanging furious rhymes back and forth, but they are joined by some features. The rest of Slaughterhouse joins in on Loud Noises and the highly popularBruno Mars on LightersLil Wayne brings us his new single How To Love and it’s hard to pick a genre Lil Weezy is aiming at here. It’s not what people would expect from him (is that good or bad?). Lastly on the hip-hop note, Gym Class Heroes drop their new singleStereo Hearts, which features Maroon 5 singer and The Voice coach Adam Levine on the hook. Stereo Hearts is a head-nodding jam perfect for summer.
Toby Keith gives us his newly released patriotic anthem Made In America. It’s an up-tempo song about his parent’s experiences in America. With Independence Day right around the corner Toby Keith said it was perfect timing for this song to be released. Also in country, Shania Twain returns from a six year break with her single Today Is Your Dayto attempt to uplift listeners…Today!
The legendary Neil Young takes us on his mid 80’s tour with the International Harvestersand brings us A Treasure. The album is a collection of live songs, but also features five unreleased songs, which are Amber JeanLet Your Fingers Do The WalkingSoul Of A WomanNothing Is Perfect and Grey Riders.
Lastly, rock band Incubus brings about their new single Promises, Promises. The lead singer described the song as homage to the pop songs of “yester-morrow” (whatever that means) and has a more “storytelling feel” to it.

Music Updates

We’ll start off in Hip-hop this week. Eminem and his old pal from Detroit Royce Da 5’9”(from Slaughterhouse) have put a ten-year old feud behind them that has birthed Bad Meets Evil. Now the group is dropping its first official single called Fast Lane from an upcoming EP. The track is a high-speed showcase of their talents. Get out of their way (but play the song)!! SNL rap group, The Lonely Island continues their hilarious hi-jinks with the release of their second album Turtleneck & Chain. Check out the title track with a guest appearance by Snoop Dogg.
Korn brings us their new single Get Up!! The song features dubstep producer Skrillex and has recently made the Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream Rock songs. One writer described it as “a skittering blitzkrieg of heavy electro beats and guitar” and the rave reviews don’t stop there critics are rating it as 5 out of 5!!
New music comes in all forms this week as Sublime With Rome drop their new singlePanic. This track has that familiar style as old school Sublime. When most bands struggle to maintain their original sound when replacing members, Sublime with Rome has figured it out and continue their legacy.
In pop, rookie artist Christina Perri follows up the success of her single Jar Of Hearts with her album LovestrongChristina Perri is an overnight success and this album is expected to debut in iTunes Top Ten albums…amazing!! The legendary Barry Manilow delivers hisDuets album. This is a compilation of songs recorded from the 1980’s to 2008’ and features plenty of big names, including Bette MidlerReba McEntire, and Barbara Streisand. Also, semi-new artist EMA releases her album Past Life Martyred Saints. Driven by the success of her single The Grey ShipEMA’s strongest trait is her lyrics and the album is an emotional ride that is both “magical and heartbreaking”.
In Rock, Augustana brings us their third full length album Augustana. Opening up at the number 29 spot on Billboard Top 200 Albums, Augustana rediscovers their musical identity and brings us an album full of strong material. On The Other Side is said to be a dark, breakout track of the album. Band Rukkus begs to Let’s Get Da Party Started and playing this album is a good way to kick it off. Filled with 14 uplifting songs that will definitely get people rocking out, the album is a soundtrack of good times.
In Country, Rodney Atkins wants listeners to ride with him and Take A Back Road. The tune is catchy and finds Rodney Atkins searching to get right with his soul, so he leaves the stress of the city. This song is destined to be the road trip song of the year. Sit back and relax.

New Updates

For our featured album, we have electronic band Metronomy bringing us their third albumThe English Riviera. The album, as one writer put it, is “confidently executed indie-pop album dominated by conventional, streamlined music.” Well that sounds good, but how’s this? “The best pop albums don't stand on ceremony to this extent.” Whoa!! Deep!! Owl City brings us their second single Galaxies from their upcoming album and fans are already raving about this one. Making a big splash on the radio, The Ready Set releases Young Forever. The song is dance-pop at its best and is sure to get people on the dance floor wanting to toss their age away.
Sibling duo, The Belle Brigade comes on to the music scene with the release of their self-titled album. The album is said to be a “sparkling” 11-song set about common themes and features an ear-pleasing quality of their vocals vibrating perfectly together. The best song is said to be Losers, so check for that. The Republic Tigers return with an EP titled No Land's Man. Not straying from what has worked before, The Republic Tigers classic song-craft remains at the forefront and is highlighted with the euphoric single, Merrymake It With Me.
Ray J (mostly known for ventures in entertainment besides his music) gives us Turnin’ Me On…yup, that’s the title. This track is a head nodder and will get anybody hyped up on the dance floor. Across the pond, rapper Plan B drops off his sophomore album The Defamation of Strickland Banks. For this album Plan B showcases more of his singing ability and is a first-hand perspective of a fictional character. The album has received rave reviews from just about every critic out there.
Punk band Simple Plan returns after a two year hiatus by releasing Can’t Keep My Hands Off You. Though not the official single, it’s still new music. Featuring Weezer front-manRivers Cuomo the song is very…bubblegummy.
Rockers Manchester Orchestra release a single appropriate for this month titled April Fool(yes it is). The song is must be making peoples keyboards explode because the only thing they say about it is “listen to it” it’s got to be that good.
The Joker returns again…Legendary group The Steve Miller Band bring us a full album of blues standards titled Let Your Hair Down. The album packs a punch with inventive arrangements and even has R&B Singer Sonny Charles splitting vocal duties. Need I say more? Ok. It’s The. Steve. Miller. Band.

Spring Update

She’s doing it…again!! Britney Spears brings us another chart-topping effort with Femme Fatale, and we have the deluxe version so you get 4 extra tracks of Britney…Yayyy!! The album has received positive reviews across the board and is a “masterful mixture of uber-cool dubstep and sugary pop”. So, with an aptly titled album, looks like Britney will be around for awhile. From one pop diva to the next, we have Miranda Cosgrove’s lead singleDancing Crazy for you. This is a mid-tempo pop rock track that is sure to get people, well…Dancing Crazy.
Some heavy hitters drop off their projects this week in the Hip-hop realm. The forever hustlin’ E-40 drops off two albums with Revenue Retrievin’: Overtime Shift and Graveyard Shift. Each album is packed with 20 tracks of Bay-Area slappers that will get the place rattling wherever you maybe. E-40 has been releasing quality music for the past two decades and these albums do not disappoint. Check out the lead single My Money Straight. Next, another legend in rap, Snoop Dogg, releases his eleventh albumDoggumentary. The album has a great mix of gangsta, R&B, and Hip-hop tracks for his wide variety of fans. The album features almost everyone that is in Hip-hop such as,Kanye WestWiz KhalifaToo Short, and more. Turning things to the South side of rap,Lil Wayne gives us his single John featuring Rick Ross. Currently at number 57 on Billboard’s Hot 100 New Singles, this Weezy song will probably only go up.
Broken Bells hold fans over following their successful album with the Meyrin Fields EP. With four new tracks the duo continues their exploration of space rock and with the title track they get down to business. From the group that brought you the hit FirefliesOwl Cityreturns with the lead single Alligator Sky from their upcoming album. Featuring rapperShawn Chrystopher the tune “lets the listener escape on a journey, with music and lyrics coming together as one’’…umm…let’s do it! Swedish indie rock band Peter, Bjorn And John release Gimme Some. Featuring catchy tunes from top to bottom PB&J, as they are also known, leave listeners begging to give us some more. The track (Don’t Let Them) Cool Off is said to be a contender for single of the year.
To the more hardcore side of rock we start with rap-rock outfit Hollywood Undead and their second album American Tragedy (Deluxe). On this album the band sounds as energetic as any rapper rockers ever have. With this album Hollywood Undead are having an epic party to end all parties. Lastly, heavy metal band Cavalera Conspiracy gives us the special edition of Blunt Force Trauma. After a fall out from their first album, the band reunites and plays 14 tracks of in-your-face blasting tunes. Make sure to check your body for signs after first listen.

Spring Update

Country starts it off this week with Sara Evans newest album in six years titled Stronger.  Receiving rave reviews from critics, Stronger is sure to be in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 soon. The track What That Drink Cost Me is a standout ballad.
The Joker is back…again! The Steve Miller Band continues their legacy by releasing I Got Love If You Want It. After more than 40 years in the industry this group never ceases to please the fans and show no signs of slowing down. Next, rock ‘n’ soul band Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears pick up right where they left off with the release ofScandalous (Deluxe Edition). The album has a roadhouse rock and roll feel and as one critic wrote is a “party record that bleeds Saturday night into Sunday morning and beyond.” One word for that…AWESOME!! The Drive-By Truckers drop off their newest album Go-Go Boots for our listening pleasure. The album has been sitting comfortably on the charts since its debut and is arguably their finest work to date.
In hip-hop, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker gets the who’s who of rapper friends to paint words over his hypnotizing productions and drumming skills on Give the Drummer Some. Featuring artists such as Lil WayneSnoop DoggSlaughterhouse, and Tech N9neTravis Barker gets hip-hoppers from every echelon to bless his tracks. Rap-rock outfit Hollywood Undead releases their single Coming Back Down, which is an ode to the death of a loved one. Coming Back Down has climbed to the second slot on ITunes’ rock chart and demonstrates a trait in the genre: strength in singing and rapping.
Alternatively, The Strokes return to the scene leading off with their single Under Cover of Darkness. After waiting five years for new material from the band, fans will be pleased. The old sound remains intact and the new era feels sharp, so welcome back to The Strokes. Another band making a comeback is the Foo Fighters with their new singleRope. The song has made history already as only the second song to debut atop the Rock Songs chart. Experimental rock band TV On The Radio drop off their new single Will Do. It’s a mellow, soulful song sure to get heads nodding in a trance.
Mike Posner returns with a revamp of his single Bow Chicka Wow Wow. On this remixPosner adds a verse from Lil Wayne in an attempt to try to woo the ladies. The song is slow paced with electric guitars screaming in the background.

New releases


Start your…umm fingers!?! This week we have an exclusive release of rock band Rev Theory’s upcoming album Justice. Be first to hear the album in full before anyone else. With few slow songs, this album is sure to get the blood flowing. If you aren’t familiar withRev Theory, now is your chance...you’ll definitely want to spread the word.
We also have the single Discoverer from legendary band R.E.M. The song is a rock anthem where Michael Stipe sings about life’s realizations and motivations. Maybe they found themselves. Canadian rockers Sum 41 bless us with their new single Screaming Bloody Murder. This song is said to “show great promise for the band” and has been well received by critics and fans alike. Looks like Sum 41 has returned to form.
Pop diva Stevie Nicks readies her first release in ten years with the single Secret Love. The song is true to Stevie Nicks signature sound and “already feels like and instant classic”. Fans are loving it. Bruno Mars gives us the EP of his single The Grenade Sessions. This EP has the original single, which is blowing up the charts, accompanied by a number of variations to please all fans. Next, we have the self-titled album from indie pop group La Sera. Lead singer Katy Goodman (of the group Vivian Girls) decides to go off on her own and delivers a solid debut album. Standout tracks include Never Come Aroundand Devils Hearts Grow Old.
American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze brings us his debut Live It Up. Reaching as high as 19 on Billboard charts, songs like Me And My Jealousy and A Song About Loveshow that Lee DeWyze has a future on the radio. Also, punk rock girl Pink releases herGreatest Hits…So Far!!! The album celebrates her first decade in the music world with biggest hits from all her albums. Three new tracks are also featured with the lead single being Raise Your Glass. Here’s a toast to you Pink!!
In Hip-hop, we have the next single from Hip-hop sensation Wiz Khalifa titled Roll Up. On this track Wiz changes up his usual style and makes a song for the ladies that will sure to be blazing the Billboard charts soon. Next, The Lonely Island crew are at it again with their hilarious antics releasing The Creep, no explanation needed here, it is what you think it is. The song features Nicki Minaj and was released with a video on Saturday Night Live.
Lastly, we have Teddy Thompson’s Bella. On this album Teddy Thompson goes through details about the pursuit of a beautiful woman. One writer points out that Teddy’s superb songwriting ability is once again evident on this album.

Great start for the New Year

Hello party people- I hope all is well on your side! This week we start off with the king of pop himself- Michael Jackson. This is unfortunately a posthumous album, and is such an emotional release for many MJ fans. With some singles already on the charts, this album is slated to be his fastest selling release in 20 years. Rest in Peace Mike!
We have some ladies kicking up dust this week! Keri Hilson’s sophomore album No Boys Allowed came out swinging with her first single-Pretty Girl Rock, which charted in the R&B Top 20. Keyshia Cole’s fourth album Calling All Hearts has been building a lot of buzz in the blog circuit. Filled with guest appearances including- Niki Minaj, Faith Evans and Timbaland, it’s guaranteed to get a few spins around town. Ke$ha has her latest hit on our network, and it has been tearing up every chart around. We Are Who We Are is driving her fans wild, and who are to deny the people what they want!
In Rock we have the latest single from R.E.M. titled It Happened Today. This is the first single off of their upcoming fifteenth album Collapse into Now! North Carolina’s Paper Tongues has some festive “tis the season” music with their new single Carol Of The Bells. Daft Punk gives us their latest body of work for the blockbuster movie TRON. And the Rockabilly legends Mad Sin has a new album to go wild to called Burn and Rise.
Hip Hop has some veterans blessing the stage this week. Wutang’s Ghostface Killah has his new album hitting stores today and he has all the blogs going crazy for it. This is one of those cases where a well known artist’s promotions are solely based on his fans. There have been endless postings about his new album, so let’s see what the hype is all about. And Sheek Louch releases his fifth solo album Donnie G: Don Gorilla- which wins this weeks strangest looking album cover.
