| Country starts it off this week with Sara Evans newest album in six years titled Stronger. Receiving rave reviews from critics, Stronger is sure to be in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 soon. The track What That Drink Cost Me is a standout ballad. The Joker is back…again! The Steve Miller Band continues their legacy by releasing I Got Love If You Want It. After more than 40 years in the industry this group never ceases to please the fans and show no signs of slowing down. Next, rock ‘n’ soul band Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears pick up right where they left off with the release ofScandalous (Deluxe Edition). The album has a roadhouse rock and roll feel and as one critic wrote is a “party record that bleeds Saturday night into Sunday morning and beyond.” One word for that…AWESOME!! The Drive-By Truckers drop off their newest album Go-Go Boots for our listening pleasure. The album has been sitting comfortably on the charts since its debut and is arguably their finest work to date. In hip-hop, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker gets the who’s who of rapper friends to paint words over his hypnotizing productions and drumming skills on Give the Drummer Some. Featuring artists such as Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Slaughterhouse, and Tech N9ne, Travis Barker gets hip-hoppers from every echelon to bless his tracks. Rap-rock outfit Hollywood Undead releases their single Coming Back Down, which is an ode to the death of a loved one. Coming Back Down has climbed to the second slot on ITunes’ rock chart and demonstrates a trait in the genre: strength in singing and rapping. Alternatively, The Strokes return to the scene leading off with their single Under Cover of Darkness. After waiting five years for new material from the band, fans will be pleased. The old sound remains intact and the new era feels sharp, so welcome back to The Strokes. Another band making a comeback is the Foo Fighters with their new singleRope. The song has made history already as only the second song to debut atop the Rock Songs chart. Experimental rock band TV On The Radio drop off their new single Will Do. It’s a mellow, soulful song sure to get heads nodding in a trance. Mike Posner returns with a revamp of his single Bow Chicka Wow Wow. On this remixPosner adds a verse from Lil Wayne in an attempt to try to woo the ladies. The song is slow paced with electric guitars screaming in the background.
