She’s doing it…again!! Britney Spears brings us another chart-topping effort with Femme Fatale, and we have the deluxe version so you get 4 extra tracks of Britney…Yayyy!! The album has received positive reviews across the board and is a “masterful mixture of uber-cool dubstep and sugary pop”. So, with an aptly titled album, looks like Britney will be around for awhile. From one pop diva to the next, we have Miranda Cosgrove’s lead singleDancing Crazy for you. This is a mid-tempo pop rock track that is sure to get people, well…Dancing Crazy.
Some heavy hitters drop off their projects this week in the Hip-hop realm. The forever hustlin’ E-40 drops off two albums with Revenue Retrievin’: Overtime Shift and Graveyard Shift. Each album is packed with 20 tracks of Bay-Area slappers that will get the place rattling wherever you maybe. E-40 has been releasing quality music for the past two decades and these albums do not disappoint. Check out the lead single My Money Straight. Next, another legend in rap, Snoop Dogg, releases his eleventh albumDoggumentary. The album has a great mix of gangsta, R&B, and Hip-hop tracks for his wide variety of fans. The album features almost everyone that is in Hip-hop such as,Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Too Short, and more. Turning things to the South side of rap,Lil Wayne gives us his single John featuring Rick Ross. Currently at number 57 on Billboard’s Hot 100 New Singles, this Weezy song will probably only go up.
Broken Bells hold fans over following their successful album with the Meyrin Fields EP. With four new tracks the duo continues their exploration of space rock and with the title track they get down to business. From the group that brought you the hit Fireflies, Owl Cityreturns with the lead single Alligator Sky from their upcoming album. Featuring rapperShawn Chrystopher the tune “lets the listener escape on a journey, with music and lyrics coming together as one’’…umm…let’s do it! Swedish indie rock band Peter, Bjorn And John release Gimme Some. Featuring catchy tunes from top to bottom PB&J, as they are also known, leave listeners begging to give us some more. The track (Don’t Let Them) Cool Off is said to be a contender for single of the year.
To the more hardcore side of rock we start with rap-rock outfit Hollywood Undead and their second album American Tragedy (Deluxe). On this album the band sounds as energetic as any rapper rockers ever have. With this album Hollywood Undead are having an epic party to end all parties. Lastly, heavy metal band Cavalera Conspiracy gives us the special edition of Blunt Force Trauma. After a fall out from their first album, the band reunites and plays 14 tracks of in-your-face blasting tunes. Make sure to check your body for signs after first listen.
